Here’s why I will be loyal to Google for life: They have the courage to mess with their own logo. I have never seen any other company do that. Ever. I mean, EVER. And that, to me, is cool. So let them have all the scandals they want (or don’t want, as the case may be). I am a Google girl.

I just love a multimillion dollar industry that has the chutzpah to not take itself too seriously. And I always look forward to logging in every day, in the hopes that they’ve done something creative. Not only do Google doodles introduce the world to different types of art, but they celebrate history, individuals, cultures and events that many people might not have heard of otherwise. Who would have guessed that a doodle could be so educational?

You can check out all the Google doodles here, but what follows are some of my all time favorites.

This first one, in particular, got me interested in fractal art. It is from 2004, when they were still a little bit cautious about changing their logo too much, but at the time it was quite striking and really got my attention. (You can see some of my fractal work here.)
