Recently, I wrote a blog post about the many lies that Florida children can now be taught. As someone who had the misfortune of being subjected to a Florida public school education, I couldn’t believe that the Florida Board of Education could possibly make things even worse. Oh, but they have. During a recent vote, they threw the door wide open to right-wing propaganda and indoctrination.
It didn’t take very long for PragerU to come waltzing through that door. Their insanely inaccurate videos are now approved to be shown to Florida students. Florida is the first state to give such approval. I’ve never been so close to developing an ulcer in my entire life.
For Starters, PragerU isn’t a university. It’s not accredited in any way. It’s simply a propaganda machine created by the conservative radio talk show host and Rush Limbaugh wannabe, Dennis Prager. It’s primarily funded by the Wilks Brothers, who made their billions through fracking.
Just to give you a brief overview, here are some of the misleading videos that PragerU produces:
- Fossil Fuels: The Greenest Energy
- Immigrants! Don’t Support What You Fled
- Playing the Black Card
- Unwoke Inc.
- Why is Modern Art so Bad?
- Why Don’t Feminists Fight for Muslim Women?
- Are Some Cultures Better Than Others?
- Blacks in Power Don’t Empower Blacks
- Is Fascism Right or Left?
- Why No One Trusts the Mainstream Media
- How Socialism Ruined My Country
- Why Trump Won
- What Does Diversity Have to Do With Science?
- As the Rich Get Richer, the Poor Get Richer
- Who Are the Racists: Conservatives or Liberals?
- The World’s Most Persecuted Minority: Christians
- War on Boys
- How the Minimum Wage Hurts Young People
- Who NOT To Vote For

Some of the outrageous “facts” and agendas they attempt to assert include:
- Racism isn’t a problem in America.
- There is no wage gap between men and women.
- Young-earth creationism is good.
- Climate denial is even better.
- Men are being oppressed.
- Rape on college campuses is a big lie.
- Jesus was a free market capitalist.
- Robert E. Lee is worthy of praise for crushing an attempted slave rebellion.
- Europe is committing suicide by allowing mass migration.
- The minimum wage should not be increased.
- The Democratic Party is directly linked to the KKK.
- Israel is “the only country in the Middle East that does not oppress its minority populations”.
- Climate change deniers are tantamount to Jewish resistance fighters who rose up against the Nazis.
- British colonists (who brutally ruled the Indian subcontinent) were benevolent reformers trying to save indigenous people from their own “harmful traditions.”
- All Muslims are baaaaaad.

Just so you wouldn’t have to, dear reader, I watched a few of these repulsive videos myself. I have to say, you really owe me one. I’ll have to boil my brain in bleach after this.
In A Short History of Slavery (and I refuse to provide a link. If you want to watch such drivel, find it yourself), we are told that the whites were the first to put an end to slavery, and that slavery is exclusively in non-white countries today. We’re also told that slavery is okay, because it has been everywhere and all throughout history.
In Feminism Vs. Truth (again, a link would be provided over my dead body), we’re told that most women reject feminism and its “victim statistics” about depression, eating disorders and the wage gap. It says that the only reason female doctors make less money than male doctors is that they are naturally drawn to specialties such as pediatrics, and those specialties simply bring in fewer dollars. It says women would make more if they would only stop taking such long leaves of absence. It also said that if men truly made more money, corporations would only hire women because that would be more profitable, and that’s clearly not the case, so you do the math.
All I can say is, Jesus Christ and General Jackson, this country is going to hell in a handbasket if that’s the kind of baloney we’re now forced to swallow without even chewing! (Sorry. I think my Southern slip is showing.)
