Fresh Look for a Fresh Year

I’ve spruced up the blog. What do you think?

Hello, Dear Reader!

It’s high time I did a little housekeeping on this blog. Some sprucing up, shall we say. Knock the cobwebs out of the corners and chase the dust bunnies from under the couch.

It is, after all, a new year, with infinite possibilities. (Okay, so our political situation is a disaster, but I refuse to let that take over my entire world or I’ll go absolutely fruit loops. You wouldn’t want to see that. It wouldn’t be pretty.)

If you’re a regular reader, I’m sure that you’ve noticed that my blog has changed its look in recent weeks. I hope you like its aesthetics as much as I do. I wanted it to look clean and colorful and uncluttered.

I have to say that I have a newfound respect for website designers. Even with a template and a whole lot of help from the Happiness Engineers at WordPress, I shed more than a few tears of frustration while making these changes. I knew what I wanted in my head, but getting the site to come out that way was like trying to make my cakes look as good as they do in the recipe image. Fuhgeddaboudit.

Anyone who does this stuff for a living is grossly underpaid. You certainly couldn’t pay me enough to take this on long term. It took me weeks to get my blog looking and behaving the way I wanted it to.

Now I could really use your help, if you’re willing. Hop on over to the home page and start exploring from there. Do all the buttons and links work for you? Does the site do everything you need/want it to do? Is it easy to navigate? Have I forgotten anything? God forbid, did I misspell anything? Is there anything you can think of that would make it even better?

I have always appreciated your comments and insights and suggestions, Dear Reader. May your year be like my newly renovated website: fresh, clean, colorful, uncluttered, and full of infinite possibilities! Onward!
