I think everyone has a book in them, it’s having a writer in them, that’s the tricky part.

Oooh, that’s a blog entry if ever I heard one.
🙂 I am a published author (also in Ballard – so I wave when I cross your bridge). Here’s the deal. You’re writing. You ARE a writer. You just prefer shorter formats. As to novels? It’s not about having a book in you. It’s about having a story in you that won’t leave you alone – it won’t let you sleep in peace. You can’t take a shower without the characters crowding with you and demanding that you listen to them. If that’s happening, start writing – not with any end in mind. The point would be to get that story and those characters out of your head. If, after many long months, the story comes together, great! THEN you decide whether you want to find an audience of any kind. We have a ton of writers’ groups in the area. Hit me up if you’d like to check out a few.

Waving back, although today I’m on the Fremont Bridge. 🙂 From your description, yeah, I think maybe, at least at this point in my life, I am a shorter format person. I’d love to hear more about writers groups, however, once my work schedule actually settles down enough for me to have a life. If you feel comfortable doing so, can you post a link to your book here?

I’m curious too. And, not to worry, there is anthology brewing here. 🙂 right?
