Okay, I’m really starting to get pissed off again. I’m ashamed of this country and its current total disregard for human rights. I’m disgusted by its elitism and hate. Yes, it’s scary out there, and it’s unfortunate that blog posts such as these have to be written. But we have got to be prepared.
If there is even the slightest chance that you or anyone you know is at risk of a run in with ICE, there are several useful websites listed below where you can find flyers to print out that will explain to people exactly what their rights are, and exactly what to do, in various situations. Many of these sites provide this information in multiple languages. Share these links far and wide. Print them out for your friends and loved ones and coworkers. Share them with your favorite compassionate business owners. Post the flyers everywhere you can think of. Here’s an idea: hang them in the public restrooms that those fools are so terrified of. Do not let these f***ers win.
Because, contrary to popular belief and all of the fearmongering and misinformation that is flying around out there, people have rights in this country, whether they are citizens or not. Just because someone acts like a king or a dictator or a tyrant or an insecure, hateful toddler who is throwing a tantrum, that doesn’t mean he gets to be treated as one. We still have a constitution. We still have the rule of law. And we can counter the misinformation with facts. We can respond to ignorance with knowledge.
Know this, too: These organizations can assist you even if you don’t have any financial resources. YOU HAVE RIGHTS!!!!
